Presidential spokesman Russia Vladimir Putin, Dmitry Peskov threatened Ukraine which continues to receive military aid from Western countries.
The news agency reports it ReutersOn Wednesday (12/21/2022), Peskov said continued Western arms supply would aggravate the conflict, which could backfire on Ukraine.
“Arms supplies continue, and the range of weapons supplied is expanding. All of this, of course, leads to an escalation of the conflict. This does not bode well for Ukraine,” Peskov told reporters.
The Kremlin spokesman also commented on the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky who will visit United States of America. He said nothing good would come of the visit. He also said that Russia sees no opportunity for peace talks with Ukraine.
Zelensky is scheduled to meet with US President Joe Biden and congressional leaders on Wednesday (12/21) local time, in his first foreign trip since Moscow sent troops to his country on February 24.
When asked if Moscow expected anything positive from Zelensky’s trip, Peskov replied: “No.”
Biden will announce new $1.8 billion in military aid to Ukraine when Zelensky visits Washington. The latest US military assistance will include the advanced Patriot missile defense system for the first time.
