Ukraine Claims Responsibility for Kyiv Drone Strike on Moscow and Crimea

Kyiv

A minister Ukraine claimed Kyiv responsibility for the barrage drone strike that rained down on Moscow, the capital Russia and Crimea which was annexed from Ukraine since 2014. Was warned by the Ukrainian minister that there would be more attacks to come.

“A number of drones attacked the capital of the orcs (a derogatory term for Russia-ed) and Crimea overnight. Electronic warfare and air defense are increasingly unable to protect the invaders’ skies,” said Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, as reported by the news agency. CNNMonday (24/7/2023).

“Whatever happens, there will be more,” he added in a Telegram statement.

The ministry led by Fedorov is known to be in charge of Ukraine’s ‘Drone Army’ initiative, which is the Ukrainian government’s drone procurement plan.

Such claims are rare, considering that so far Ukraine has hardly ever publicly claimed responsibility for a series of attacks on Russian territory or on territories occupied by Moscow forces in Ukraine since the invasion was launched a year ago.

Recently, Kyiv finally acknowledged its role in the massive explosion that rocked the Crimea Bridge last October.

The Russian Defense Ministry accused Ukraine of launching 17 drone attacks on Crimea between Sunday (23/7) evening and into Monday (24/7) early morning. Moscow called the series of drone attacks a “terrorist attack”.
