In the capital of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia, Halifax, on Friday, November 19, a ceremony was held to coincide with the start of construction of a space launch pad for the Ukrainian launch vehicle Cyclone-4M… About it it says on the page of the head of the State Space Agency Vladimir Taftay on Facebook.

“The project provides for the creation on the Atlantic coast of the province of Nova Scotia, a commercial spaceport for a launch vehicle Cyclone-4M development and production of Ukrainian state enterprise design bureaus Yuzhnoe and GP software Southern Machine-Building Plant“, – indicated in the message.

It is noted that the above-mentioned Ukrainian enterprises and the Canadian company Maritime Launch Services Ltd (MLS) will work on the project. On the eve of the ceremony, a corresponding joint statement was signed.

The command center of the future cosmodrome will be named after Alexander Degtyarev – the former head of the GP KB Yuzhnoe.

Let us remind you that the implementation of the Ukrainian-Canadian project Cyclone-4M provided by the National Target Scientific and Technical Space Program of Ukraine for 2021-2025. The first rocket launch is planned for the end of 2023.

As reported, the Esrange space center in Sweden will be the first site for the development of rocket technology and launching satellites in the European Union… It should be ready to go by summer 2022.
