Ukraine attacked another bridge in the Russian region of Kursk – Diario La Página – 2024-08-20 01:40:39

Ukrainian air forces have bombed another bridge in Russia’s Kursk region as part of their offensive to halt Russian military operations in the area near the border, one of their commanders said Sunday. For nearly two weeks, Ukraine’s military has been carrying out an unprecedented cross-border assault in Kursk, where it claims to control more than 80 towns.

“One less bridge. The Air Force aviation continues to deprive the enemy of logistical capabilities with precision air strikes,” said Air Force Commander Mikola Oleshchuk, while publishing a video of the bombing, apparently recorded from a drone. “Once again I thank the pilots for their professionalism and for the result,” Oleschuk added.

It shows an explosion partially destroying a bridge in what Russian and Ukrainian Telegram channels describe as a location in Kursk, specifically at a point along the Seym River in southern Russia, according to the kyiv-based newspaper ‘Ukrainska Pravda’.

On the night of Friday to Saturday, Ukrainian air forces claimed to have destroyed a first bridge in Kursk, identified as another infrastructure located on the Seym River, north of Glushkovo, one of the districts of the region where the Ukrainian incursion is taking place.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also reported an attack on a Russian refinery in Rostov, in the south of the Russian Federation, overnight. “In the early hours of August 18, the Kavkaz plant in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation was attacked,” the Ukrainian military said on its Facebook account. According to Governor Vasili Golubev, no one was injured and firefighting efforts were resumed after a second attack.
