KIEV – President Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called on citizens of the world from different countries to become foreign volunteers in the fight against Russia .

“This will be a key testament to your support for our country,” Zelensky said in a statement Sunday.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba via Twitter echoed Zelensky’s request for help. He asked foreigners to join the volunteer army in defending Ukraine.

He said willing foreigners should contact Ukrainian diplomatic missions in their respective countries.

“Foreigners who are willing to defend Ukraine and world order as part of the International Legion for the Territorial Defense of Ukraine, I invite you to contact Ukrainian foreign diplomatic missions in your respective countries. Together we defeat Hitler, and we will also defeat Putin,” he wrote on Twitter referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“The Ukrainian leadership invites all foreigners who wish to join the fight against the Russian invaders and to protect world security to come to our country and join the ranks of the Territorial Defense Forces. A separate foreign unit is being created – the Ukrainian International Legion of Territorial Defense,” he said.

“Joining will be the main proof of support for Ukraine,” he added, as quoted by CNNMonday (28/2/2022).
