Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Ukrainian government has asked Apple Inc boss, Tim Cook, to reduce products and block access to the App Store in Russia.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, quoted by Reuters, posted on social media a copy of a letter to Cook to “stop supplying Apple products and services to the Russian Federation, including blocking access to the App Store”.
Apple has no comment on this issue. Fedorov said that this year, technology is “the best answer for tanks, rockets and missiles”.
Fedorov also asked the United States to provide support in the form of sanctions against Russia.
Tim Cook took to Twitter to express his concern for Ukraine.
“I am very concerned about the situation in Ukraine. We will do everything we can for our team … and we will support local humanitarian action,” Cook said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin launched an invasion of Ukraine from the north, east and south since Thursday (24/2).
Russia’s action is considered dangerous for the European agreement after the Cold War.
