The Cabinet of Ministers approved an increase in the electricity tariff for the population from June 1 to 2.64 UAH / kWh.

According to the source, Energy Minister German Galushchenko urgently introduced a resolution to increase the electricity tariff for the population – it was approved.
Earlier it was reported that the National Commission for State Regulation in the Spheres of Energy and Utilities (NEURC) officially submitted proposals to determine from June 1 a single tariff for electricity for household consumers at the level of UAH 2.88/kWh (including VAT) within the first price adjustment stage.
Three tariffs are currently in force in Ukraine: two “social” tariffs for the population and one market tariff for business.
Household consumers who use less than 250 kWh per month pay UAH 1.44 per kWh, those who use more – UAH 1.68 per kWh.
The price for legal entities, which includes the cost of electricity, VAT, the tariff for distribution, transmission, dispatching and supply, exceeds UAH 6 per kWh.
Earlier in her article, EP talked about the reasons that prompted the authorities to take an unpopular step in the form of raising the tariff for the population.
For several months, various scenarios for revising the tariff were discussed, but in the end they decided to increase it to UAH 2.64 per kWh.

He explained that such a decision entailed the destruction and damage of the energy infrastructure as a result of Russian airstrikes.
“If we hadn’t made this decision, then next winter we would have been without electricity. This decision will give us the opportunity to ensure the stability of the energy system. Unfortunately, we still have lost significant generation capacity. season,” the minister said.
