The exchange of bodies took place on the front line in the Zaporizhia region, said the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.
Ukraine has repeatedly called on Russia to repatriate the bodies of fallen soldiers, with kyiv even accusing Moscow of using its own troops as “cannon fodder” and failing to provide a dignified burial for fallen servicemen.
According to Ukrainian sources, new negotiations are underway regarding the exchange of prisoners of war. Thousands of Ukrainian soldiers fell into the hands of the Russians, including the Mariupol fighters who had entrenched themselves in the Azovstal steelworks.
