At the close in London, it fell 0.03%.
The best performers of the session were EasyJet SA (LON:), which rose 2.79% or 13.30 points to trade at 490.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Tui AG (LON:) added 2.72% (16.50 points) to end at 622.50 and Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (LON:) added 2.63% (LON:) to 304.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hargreaves Lansdown PLC (LON:), which fell 6.67% or 51.00 points to trade at 714.20 at the close. Anglo American plc (LON:) fell 5.20% or 93.00 points to end at 1,696.00; Abrdn PLC (LON:) fell 5.14% or 9.30 points to 171.70.
937 stocks on the London Stock Exchange fell, which exceeded the number of stocks that closed higher – 704. At the same time, 496 stocks did not rise or fall, which was basically the same.
Shares in Anglo American plc (LON:) fell to three-year lows, losing 5.20% or 93.00 points to 1,696.00. Rolls-Royce Holdings plc (LON: ) shares rose to three-year highs; up 2.63% or 7.80 points to 304.70.
The price of the February options contract on gold futures rose 0.11% (2.20 points) to $1,995.90. For the rest of the futures, the price of WTI crude oil futures contract for January delivery fell by 3.87% (2.76 points), quoted at US$68.56, while the February London Brent crude oil futures contract fell by 3.71% (2.82), and the trading price was US$73.21.
GBP/USD did not rise or fall by 0.03%, with an exchange rate of 1.25; at the same time, EUR/GBP was basically unchanged at 0.29%, with a quote of 0.86.
U.S. dollar index futures fell 0.21% to 103.49.
