UK stock indices rose at the end of today’s session; Investing.com Britain 100 rose about 0.10%

Investing.com – UK stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , , and .

At the end of trading in London, an increase of 0.10% was recorded.

Among today’s leading stocks was Barclays PLC (LON:), which rose 4.16%, or 9.90 points, to trade at 248.05 at the close. On the other hand, Unilever PLC (LON:) shares continued to rise by 2.94%, or 137.00 points, and closed at 4,790.00, while Anglo American PLC (LON:) shares increased by 2.88%, or 67.00 points, to 2,390.50 at the end of the session.

As for the weakest performance at the end of today’s trading, Schroders PLC (LON:) shares closed down 2.65%, or 9.60 points, and traded at 353.20 at the close. SSE PLC (LON:) shares declined by 2.40%, or 45.50 points, to a price of 1,847.00, while United Utilities Group PLC (LON:) shares closed down by 1.87%, or 20.00 points, to a price of 1,051.00.

The number of stocks that declined the most exceeded the number of stocks that closed higher in trading on the London Stock Exchange, with 930 compared to 846, while 683 remained unchanged.

Barclays PLC (LON:) shares rose to a record high, continuing to rise by 4.16%, or 9.90 points, at a price of 248.05.

Gold futures for December delivery rose 0.43%, or 11.80, and closed at $2,741.20 per ounce. As for trading in other commodities, WTI crude oil futures contracts for December delivery fell 1.33%, or 0.94, and reached a price of $69.83 per barrel, while the December contract for Brent oil contracts recorded a decline of 1.20%, or 0.90 points, and closed at $74.06 per barrel.

The GBP/USD pair remained stable at 0.29% and traded at 1.30 levels, while the EUR/GBP pair remained unchanged at about 0.07% and reached 0.83 levels.

Dollar index contracts traded down by 0.21% at 104.06.
