The smallest stock was Coca Cola HBC AG (LON:), which rose in price by 84.00 points (3.06%), closing at 2,826.00. BAE Systems PLC (LON: ) rose 28.00 points (2.12%) to close at 1,348.00. GSK plc (LON: ) rose by 33.50 points (2.07%) today at 1,651.50.
Stocks were the worst losers Antofagasta PLC (LON:), the price fell by 114.00 p. (5.97%), ending the session at 1,796.50. Stock JD sports fashion PLC (LON:) was up 5.80p (4.05%) to close at 137.30, while NatWest Group PLC (LON:) was down 11.40p (3.26%) to end trading at 338.00.
On the London Stock Exchange, the number of securities that fell in price (1009) was higher than the number that closed in positive territory (741), and the values of 727 shares were almost unchanged.
Gold futures for December delivery lost 0.49%, or 12.40, to settle at $2,540.50 a troy ounce. In other commodities, WTI crude oil futures prices for October delivery fell 1.03%, or 0.78, to $74.75 a barrel. Brent crude futures for November delivery fell 1.04%, or 0.82, to $77.84 a barrel.
Meanwhile, on the Forex market, GBP/USD fell 0.53% to 1.32, while EUR/GBP was unchanged 0.02% at 0.84.
USD index futures rose 0.51% to 100.97.
