Dr Colin Brown, director of clinical and infection at UKHSA said there was still an investigation into the source of the infection.

“While investigations are ongoing to determine the source of the infection, it is important to emphasize that it does not spread easily between people and requires close personal contact with an infected person,” explains Dr Colin Brown.

Although there have been three cases in English, there are no reports from other countries. That means, there is no need to worry about this. This rare disease is also not easily spread between humans.

This rare condition is characterized by fever, headache, chills, fatigue, pain, and swollen lymph nodes.

The rash usually spreads from the face to the rest of the body about five days after the fever appears before eventually forming a scab.
