The summer wave of infections caused by the variant Delta worries everyone Europe, where more and more countries attend to the increase of cases e debate on the mandatory nature of the vaccine for some categories (health first) and on the possibility of introducing a health pass to access public places, as has already been done by France. What worries most of all, precisely because of the amount of infections recorded, is the UK that, overwhelmed for weeks by the variant Delta also during the competitions of Europeans, recorded 42,302 new cases of Covid and 49 other deaths. This is the highest number of new infections since last January 15, when 55,761 cases were recorded. They had been there yesterday 36,660 new infections and 50 deaths.
Me too’Austria, however, it has seen a surge and the cases are tripled within a week. There are in fact 332 those ascertained between Friday e Saturday, while in the same period of the previous week they were hardly identified 107. Over the past seven days, an average of 160 new cases have been recorded per day, almost double the same week in July 2020 (84). The same also applies to the active cases which are currently 2,474 and on 14 July 2020 they were just 1,239.
