Prince Harry and his wife Meghan announced on Wednesday that they would renounce their leading role in the British royal family to gain financial independence and settle for part of the year in North America.
“We intend to give up (the role of) senior members of the royal family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to support the queen,” said the spouses, who had announced them months of their difficulty in experiencing the media pressure linked to their function, ensuring that they made this decision “after many months of discussions”.
