In view of its faltering deportation deal with Rwanda, the British government is now relying on financial incentives for migrants to travel to the East African country, according to media reports. Asylum seekers whose claims were rejected in the UK should be paid up to £3,000 (around €3,500) for a “voluntary move”, the newspaper was first to report „The Times“ reported on Wednesday.
This is part of a new program that was drawn up independently of the ongoing plan to deport migrants from Great Britain to Rwanda. The new resettlement program targets tens of thousands of migrants who cannot be sent back to their home country.
