FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — After being shocked by the mutilation case of students at UMY, now the news of the murder has come from the University of Indonesia.
A Russian Literature student at UI with the initials Muhammad Naufal Zidan (MNZ), 19 years old, was reported dead after being killed by his senior with the initials AAB, 23 years old.
The victim was allegedly stabbed with a knife several times before being put in a plastic bag and hidden under the bed.
The motive for the murder was allegedly because the perpetrator was in debt due to online loans and suffered losses in crypto investments.
Responding to this, the University of Indonesia expressed its condolences for the tragedy that befell its student, MNZ, as quoted by JawaPos.com via their Twitter account @univ_indonesia on Saturday (5/8).
“The University of Indonesia is deeply condolences for the tragedy that befell one of our students, Muhammad Naufal Zidan, Russian Literature Student Class of 2022,” wrote the campus’ official Twitter account.
“We ask all people, especially UI residents, to pray that the deceased will have a noble place at His side and all of his deeds of worship will be accepted,” he added.
Some netizens reacted sadly to the death of the UI student. However, some others actually criticized UI by bringing up the Akseyna case which until now has not been revealed.
“It’s strange, a class of UI students don’t know that premeditated murder carries the death penalty? Strangely, I often hear about murder cases related to UI. even some that have not been revealed until now. Are the students who pass the entrance test really the best?” write account @pttimothys.
