Uhm Jung-hwa Opens Up About Battling Thyroid Cancer and Preparing for Concert

[OSEN=임혜영 기자] Uhm Jeong-hwa confessed that she had a painful time with thyroid cancer.

Uhm Jung-hwa and Joo-young Lee appeared on the MBC entertainment program ‘Point of Omniscient Interfere’ (hereinafter referred to as Omniscient Interference), which aired on the 2nd.

Uhm Jung-hwa is about to hold a solo concert for the first time in 23 years. He said, “It was in 1999 and 2000. “I didn’t plan it, but I thought it would be later this year or later and I would regret it for the rest of my life,” he said, explaining what prompted him to prepare for the concert.

Uhm Jung-hwa said, “I can’t sleep because of the concert. “I get tired because the stress builds up,” she said, adding, “Hyori also said, ‘I have to do it’ when I said I would do it.” She said that she is receiving support from her juniors and fans, including Hwasa. In response, her manager praised Eom Jeong-hwa while teasing her by calling her ‘Eomsal Jeong-hwa’.

Uhm Jung-hwa said about her vocal cords being damaged due to thyroid cancer, “I tried to speak and raise my voice. She cried and made a fuss. She has made progress because now she tries to sing. I was so angry the day before yesterday. I wondered if this was happening because one side of the vocal cords wasn’t moving. “Sometimes I feel like tearing her head off,” she said.

Afterwards, Uhm Jung-hwa went out to practice choreography with the dancers. Unlike her passion, Uhm Jung-hwa’s body did not follow suit and she suffered. However, as soon as the music started, Uhm Jung-hwa impressed her by showing off her kalgak dance that matched the beat to the beat.

Jinusean came to the practice room when practice was in full swing. He is scheduled to appear as a guest during the Seoul concert. They met again after 8 years and got back together. Uhm Jung-hwa recalled appearing on the ‘Tell Me’ stage with Jinusean in the past and said, “How much criticism did you get from fans because of Jinusean?” Sean expressed his gratitude by saying, “He was a rookie and you featured him,” and Jinu said, “He’s our benefactor.”

They impressed people by perfectly performing the stage they performed together for the first time in a long time.
