UGM Researchers: 3 Factors Passengers Choose Online Transportation During a Pandemic

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta -Researcher of the Center for Transportation and Logistics Studies at Gadjah Mada University, Muhammad Zudhy Irawan said that there are three factors for passengers to choose online transportation during the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the most important is safety which includes safe driving and vaccinated drivers.

Then the health protocol factor is the second consideration. Transportation reliability which includes service quality is placed on the third factor.

“With the changing trends and expectations of public transportation after the pandemic, a series of innovations gojek which answers these three factors, is the right step to be able to stay relevant, meet the needs of the community,” said Zudhy in a virtual press conference directly with Gojek on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

According to Zudhy’s research, 76.12 percent of respondents support integrated public transportation services. This connectivity also encourages people to use public transportation.

“The more people use public transportation, the more often that person uses the service” ride-hailing,” he continued.

Gojek’s Head of Global Transport Marketing Amanda Parikesit said Gojek always wants to meet consumer expectations regarding transportation safety during the pandemic. Service integration with Electric Rail Train (KRL) is one of the commitments implemented.

“Passengers will be able to buy KRL tickets through the Gojek application, plan travel packages bundling using GoRide/GoCar and KRL, as well as enjoying the pick-up point or waiting area facilities, which Gojek has built in recent years at several KRL stations,” explained Amanda.
