UFL: Competition to EA Sports FC has a release date

Football fans take note, September will be an exciting month because UFL, the newest competitor to EA Sports FC, has been given a concrete release date.

Just last weekend, Strikerz Inc. treated console gamers to another beta for the upcoming football game UFL, and it seems to have been entirely satisfactory, at least for the developers. Shortly after the beta was completed, a release date was announced.

According to this, UFL is now set to be released as a free-to-play title on September 12th, at least that is what our colleagues at Insider Gaming. It seems that the feedback from the 1.5 million people interested in the beta must have been quite positive. The developers made countless revisions and improvements to the game after the first beta.

Now the title has to prove that it can still convince after the official release and that its financing through Battle Pass and microtransactions works. After all, the developers have set themselves high goals – they have to get 15 million players on the pitch within the first 12 months. Perhaps it will help that Cristiano Ronaldo has invested a whopping 40 million dollars in the development and players like Firmino and De Bruyne are acting as testimonials.

The free-to-play title aims to let you compete against each other in online matches where your skills and not the quality of the virtual players are the main focus. You can create your own clubs from over 5,000 licensed players and compete in 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 matches both online including crossplay and offline. It remains to be seen whether these goals will be achieved and whether fair play will really be the focus. If so, EA Sports FC and Konami’s eFootball can brace themselves.

UFL – Open Beta Announcement

UFL, the newest competitor to EA Sports FC, will enter open beta from June 7-9, 2024.
