Max Holloway (26-7) knocked out Justin Gaethje (25-5) with one second left in the BMF title fight at UFC 300.
Gaethje put pressure on his rival and kicked his calf powerfully. Holloway, however, proved that he had great boxing skills. He landed a great uppercut. “The Blessed One,” as usual, landed a lot of punches. He ended the round with an impressive spin. Gaethje then lowered his position and the kick broke his nose.
Holloway did great stand-up work in round two as well. However, in one of the actions he hit his opponent’s eye with his finger. Fortunately, after a short break, the fight was resumed. The players exchanged blows and the Hawaiian committed a similar offense again. Holloway dominated in strokes at all heights. Gaethje’s broken nose clearly bothered him.
We saw a lot of kicking from both sides. Breaking the opponent’s leg was the main element of “Highlight’s” tactic. Holloway landed a hard right hand, then tried a spinner. The former featherweight champion also attacked his opponent with a combination immediately afterwards. Holloway carefully looked for opportunities to score, controlling the fight.
The fight for the BMF belt has entered the championship rounds phase. Gaethje scored in a short burst, then again. However, Holloway also responded with many punches, further smashing his opponent’s nose. Thanks to his speed, “Blessed” also avoided most of his rival’s extremely powerful attacks. In the end, Gaehtje hit it hard enough to make Holloway sit down for a moment.
In the final round, Holloway tried to keep the fight at bay and attack from there. “Blessed:” landed a hell of a right hand. Gaethje was unsteady on his feet but survived the attack. The Hawaiian also landed a strong right. There was also no shortage of turnovers on his part. At the very end of the fight, “Blessed” invited his rival to fight in the middle of the octagon. In a hellish exchange, Holloway scored and knocked out his opponent with one second left!
