In the end, the victory was won by Jan Blachowicz through absolute number decisions.

The match opened at a rather slow tempo.
Blachowicz and Adesanya tried to find an opening attack by occasionally releasing a foot kick.
Blachowicz took the first initiative with his punch but Adesanya was able to dodge before replying a few seconds later.
Adesanya predicts that Blachowicz will pull off a technique grappling in the first round did not materialize.
