UEFA has lifted all sanctions handed out to Super League clubs, Juventus, Real Madrid on FC Barcelona. The European Football Association has decided this following a ruling by the court in Madrid. He ruled that the fines were illegal.
Juventus, Barcelona and Real, along with a number of other clubs, wanted to set up their own league, intended to generate more money. Only the first three clubs are still involved in the plans and UEFA is not happy about that.
Fines were handed out, but they have been withdrawn. “Following the suspension of proceedings against FC Barcelona, Juventus FC and Real Madrid in the case relating to a possible violation of UEFA’s legal framework in connection with the so-called Super League, the UEFA Appellate Body has today opened proceedings annulled as if the proceedings had never been opened,” UEFA said in a statement.
