The two epic qualifiers of Olympiakos and PAOK to the “8” of the Conference League, against Maccabi Tel Aviv and Dinamo Zagreb respectively, are of enormous importance for Greece’s position in the UEFA standings.
The points collected by the two teams and the qualification to the next stage keep Greece alive in the battle for the 15th place, which will upgrade the “tickets” for the European competitions from next season.
Greece is in 17th place with 29.525 points, but can only improve its position as both Israel and Denmark in the top two places are left without a representative in the European competitions.
Now, both Olympiacos and PAOK have a minimum of two matches in the effort for European distinction, but also to put more points in the bag for Greece, with the goal of 15th place, which gives two tickets to the Champions League qualifiers (1st-2nd), 1 ticket to the Europa League qualifiers for the Cup Winner and 2 to the Europa Conference League, to be possible.
