According to European football’s governing body, “A UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Investigator has been appointed to assess a possible breach of the UEFA Disciplinary Rules by referee David Coote.”

This was the latest controversy involving the 42-year-old referee, who had already been suspended by PGMOL (Professional Game Officials Limited), responsible for English refereeing, for a video in which he cursed Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool.
