David Coote could breach the Disciplinary Rules

UEFA announced this Thursday the opening of an investigation into English referee David Coote, following the release of a video in which the referee’s professional was caught smelling white powder after acting as VAR of the Spain–GermanyNo Euro 2024.

According to European football’s governing body, “A UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Investigator has been appointed to assess a possible breach of the UEFA Disciplinary Rules by referee David Coote.”

This was the latest controversy involving the 42-year-old referee, who had already been suspended by PGMOL (Professional Game Officials Limited), responsible for English refereeing, for a video in which he cursed Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool.
