In the 3rd group of the C-division of the League of Nations 2022/2023, the Slovak national football team will meet with Belarus, Azerbaijan and the winner of the draw between Kazakhstan and Moldova.

The decision was made on Thursday by the draw at the headquarters of the European Football Union (UEFA) in Nyon, where Slovakia was in the first performance basket of its division.
After performing in the previous two years of the League of Nations in Slovakia, the Slovaks will present themselves in the upcoming edition of this competition in the “céčko”. They were deployed in the 1st basket together with Turkey, Bulgaria and Northern Ireland. All four teams found themselves in the C-division after dropping out of the B-division. At the same time, it was true that they could certainly not encounter these opponents in the group of four.
Former French representative Robert Pires has awarded Belarus from the second basket, Azerbaijan from the third and Kazakhstan, Moldova from the fourth winner of the duel, which will be known in March next year. Defenders of the trophy from France will play in the 1st group of the strongest A-division with Denmark, Croatia and Austria.
The winner of the first year from Portugal received a trio of Spain, Switzerland and the Czech Republic in the 2nd group. Group number three will offer attractive fights of greats from Italy, Germany and England, supplemented by Hungary. In the 4th group are Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland and Wales.
Originally, the draw was to take place in Montreux with the participation of invited representatives of the member countries, but this was thwarted by the current pandemic situation in Switzerland. There are 16 participants in the VA, B and C-divisions, the weakest D-division has seven. Russia could not meet Ukraine with one group.
The League of Nations will be played next year in June, which will be “charged” with 4th rounds. The remaining two rounds will take place in September. The final tournament awaits the winners of the A-Division groups from June 14 to 18, 2023. In March 2024, he then decides in the playoffs to descend to the D-Division.
From LN there will probably be a chance to advance through the playoffs to the European Championships 2024 in Germany. However, the format of the qualification is still questionable, it will not be known until June 2022. Slovakia already has good experience with the LN playoffs, it has just advanced to EURO 2020, which took place this year for the COVID-19 pandemic. It ruled out both Ireland and Northern Ireland.
