UEFA is planning to reform the Champions League for the 2024/25 season. Part of the plans is apparently the organization of a final in New York.
The European Football Association wants to make its top product even better known internationally and also to market it better. The huge US market is to be worked on further. Commenting on plans for a final in New York, UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin said: “Going from Portugal to Azerbaijan, for example, is almost the same as going to New York. It’s not a problem for the fans. ”
The earliest possible time for an event in the USA is 2025. The finals for this year (Istanbul), 2022 (St. Petersburg), 2023 (Munich) and 2024 (London) have already been taken.
