UEFA announced that an investigation has been launched into the “sex sounds” recorded on live broadcast during the draw held in Hamburg, Germany yesterday.
The voices in question were heard when Switzerland was selected for Group A along with Scotland, Hungary and Germany.
A similar incident occurred in the program broadcast live on BBC after the FA Cup match between Wolverhampton and Liverpool in January.
YouTube phenomenon and prank video maker Daniel Jarvis claimed that he was behind the two incidents.
Jarvis posted a live video on social media platform “Listen, this is us. We got in there and put the phone in there and made it ring, sounds of sex at Euro 2024,” Jarvis says live.
UEFA Deputy General Secretary Giorgio Marchetti tried to control the situation during the incident and said, “There is a sound here, it has stopped now. It is no longer there.”
When Gareth Southgate, the coach of the England national team, was asked about the incident, he said that there was a sound that the audience sitting in the hall could barely hear and said, “I guessed it was some kind of joke, but it was really difficult to understand what it was.”

The draw where the incident took place was held yesterday in Hamburg, Germany.
10 cities will host the championship. The opening match between Germany and Scotland will be held at the Munich Stadium. The final match will be played at the Berlin Olympic Stadium.
The format of EURO 2024 will be the same as the previous tournament. In other words, the 12 teams that will finish in the top two places in the six groups will advance to the last 16. The other four teams that will make it to the last 16 will be selected from the third best groups. Then, quarter-final, semi-final and final matches will be held.
Türkiye was relegated to the same group as Portugal, who came from the first pot in group F.
The team that came from the third pot in the group including Turkey and Portugal was Czechia.
The fourth team in the group will be the team that will come from the Play off C route. Georgia, Greece, Luxembourg and Kazakhstan will compete on the way to Play off C.
The play off groups, called paths A, B and C, will be played on a single-elimination basis. The semi-final matches in the groups will be held on March 21, 2024, and the final matches will be held on March 26.
The groups in the championship were formed as follows;
In Group: Germany, Scotland, Hungary, Switzerland
Group B: Spain, Croatia, Italy, Albania
Group C: Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia, England
Group D: The team coming from France, Austria, Netherlands and Play off A route (Poland/Wales/Finland/Estonia)
Group E: The team from Belgium, Slovakia, Romania and Play off B (Israel/Bosnia and Herzegovina/Ukraine/Iceland)
F Group: Team coming from Portugal, Turkey, Czech Republic and Play off C route (Georgia/Greece/Kazakhstan/Luxembourg)
