UEFA has made the decision to expel the Russian football club Spartak Moscow from the Europa Leaguewith which RB Leipzig would go directly to quarter finals, according to what the German newspaper ‘Bild’ points out. Thus, the matches between Leipzig and Spartak that were to be played on March 10 and 17 will not be played due to the war against Ukraine initiated by the Executive of Vladimir Putin with the aim of invading the neighboring country.

It should be remembered that Leipzig had already announced that it was talking to UEFA to find out how it should proceed in the clashes with Spartak, assuming that the Union of European Football Federations would make a decision on the matter.
