The European Football Union (UEFA) supports its 55 member associations in the corona crisis with millions of euros. The governing body released a 236.5 million euro release on Monday to “address the challenges of Covid-19”.
The money is paid out as part of the HatTrick program, which usually supports the associations with running costs and the development of specific programs. In view of the pandemic, the associations can now decide more freely on the use.
“Our sport is facing an unprecedented challenge caused by the Covid 19 crisis,” said UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin.
“UEFA wants its members to act according to their specific circumstances, so we agreed that up to € 4.3 million per association will be paid for the rest of this and the next season, as well as part of the Investment funds can be used to rebuild the football community at the discretion of our members. “
