Dusan Tadic has been named by UEFA Champions League Player of the Week. The Ajax captain has earned that prize with his performance against FC Midtjylland. Ajax won 3-1 against the Danes on Wednesday.
Tadic did not score, but made an impression with two assists and is now the best of this week, UEFA has announced. It is not the least players that the Serbian leaves behind. Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund), Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) and Robin Gosens (Atalanta Bergamo) also had a chance to win the honorary title of UEFA. Fernandes did score the goal of the week and trumped Ryan Gravenberch, who also scored beautifully.
Due to Ajax’s 3-1 victory over Midtjylland, the team is still competing for a place in the next round of the Champions League. Next Tuesday, Liverpool will be the opponent and a week later Atalanta Bergamo awaits.
