UEFA canceled the match between Tottenham and Rennes corresponding to the Conference League due to lack of dates for rescheduling. The meeting was scheduled for last Thursday, but was not played due to a COVID-19 outbreak on Spurs’ roster.
The European body decided to cancel the party after speaking with both institutions. “Unfortunately, despite all efforts, no solution could be found that would suit the two clubs.”, a UEFA spokesperson told AFP.
The game loss score will be determined by the supervisory and disciplinary body. According to the regulations, the authorities should give the game up for Tottenham 3-0.
Rennes, the leaders of Group G, have already qualified for the last 16 of the Conference League. Tottenham had to win this match to reach second place. Currently, the Spurs are in third place and would be left out of the competition.
