‘UEFA bans special Orange shirts, only’ OneLove ‘during warm-up’

The Dutch national team will wear a shirt with ‘#OneLove’ on it during the warm-up for the game with Spain on Wednesday. However, UEFA does not allow players to wear it during the match.

It reports that Algemeen Dagblad. OneLove is the campaign name of the KNVB against racism and discrimination. Almost a year ago, the players took over The Netherlands openly renounced it.

This happened after Excelsior player Ahmad Mendes Moreira was racially treated by supporters of FC Den Bosch. Frenkie de Jong and Georginio Wijnaldum released a statement on behalf of the Orange players that has received a lot of international attention.

The special OneLove shirt would be worn during the game with Spain, but that is against UEFA rules. Therefore it can only be seen during the warm-up.

The Netherlands and Spain meet on Wednesday evening at 8.45 pm.
