Organized across Europe on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the competition, in twelve different cities, Euro 2020 will not take place this year. A logical decision, in a context of health emergency, which was taken Tuesday by UEFA during an executive committee in Nyon.
Today, via a tweet, UEFA has “provisionally” formalized the new dates for the European Championship. It should take place from Friday 11 June to Sunday 11 July 2021. The European football authority specifies that the competition will always bear the name of Euro 2020, although it will take place next year (certainly not having to throw millions of Euro 2020 products in the trash).
