UDP Expands Training Offer and Implements Curricular Innovations

As part of deepening its academic project and responding to the requirements of the environment, the UDP has implemented various actions to increase the value proposition of its training offer.

During 2023, the UDP opened three new undergraduate majors – Public Administration, Anthropology, Cinema and Audiovisual Production – and the Bachelor’s program in Administration and Economics.

In postgraduatenew programs were created:

  • Master in Management of Health Institutions, taught jointly between the faculties of Medicine and Administration and Economics
  • Master in Digital Business, taught by the faculties of Engineering and Sciences and Administration and Economics
  • Master’s Degree in Civil Property Law from the Faculty of Law, being the first 100% online UDP program
  • Derivative Specialty Training Program in Cardiology

In addition, the Doctorate in Administration Sciences began, becoming the eighth doctoral program offered by the University.

Parallel to the opening of new careers and programs, and within the framework of the 2022-2026 Strategic Planning, the UDP is promoting a plan of undergraduate curricular innovations that allows to intensify the general studies program, enhance flexibility, inter and transdisciplinarity and promote the integration of their training work with research, innovation and creation and the link with the environment and local and global society.

As an aspect to highlight, and consistent with the strategic guidelines, innovation processes they incorporate the gender perspective, attending to the search for greater equity in training.

To increase the institutional capacities that allow these innovation processes to be addressed, the University is developing various actions, among which the implementation of the FDI UDP22102 project “Innovation of the undergraduate curriculum through the strengthening and incorporation of inter and transdisciplinary training experiences with opportunities of connection with the national and international environment”. This project considers the definition of institutional frameworks and policies, the hiring of specialist professionals, the establishment of a physical space for articulation and the transfer of capacities for interdisciplinary training.

In 2023, five undergraduate programs have implemented new study plans aligned with the main purposes of Strategic Planning: Baccalaureate in Social Sciences and Humanities, Law, Medicine, Kinesiology, Medical Technology, and Obstetrics and Neonatology.
