To be part of this camp organized by the Telmex Telcel Foundation, the participating 16 and 17 year old youth were selected under certain characteristics by the organizers, in order to ensure the opportunity to live a unique experience at UDLAP by participating in training sessions, talks on financial education, in addition to learning the importance of a university and basketball education, through coach Bob Mackinnon, who stands out for having led 28 players to the NBA, being champion of the NBA Development League (G-NBA) with the Colorado 14ers, head coach of the Summer League with the Dallas Mavericks, director of the G-NBA / D League Elite Camp, university coach for 25 years in the NCAA Divisions I, II and III, among other aspects.

Coach Bob Mackinnon explained that the camp consists of four intensive sessions that will begin this Friday, where he will show different aspects of the sport, from the essential technical part to the physics of the game, with the idea being that the participants return to their places of origin with all the bases of basketball, because “the great players are talented because they have the fundamentals of the game. In addition, we are going to teach young people to compete at a high level, to play with passion and purpose,” he added.

In addition to the above, future basketball stars will have the opportunity to live like a UDLAP student athlete, sleeping in one of its residential schools, having their meals in its cafeteria and the freedom to see everything the institution has to offer in terms of laboratories, classrooms, recreational spaces and more.
