The Head of the Senate of the UDI, Gustavo Sanhueza, in addition to the deputies for District 19, Marta Bravo and Cristóbal Martínez, announced that they will appeal to the Comptroller General of the Republic for the appointment of Anwar Farrán as the new presidential delegate of Ñuble.
In this regard, although the union parliamentarians did not point – in any case – to the capabilities of the new authority, they warned that there could be a non-compliance with one of the requirements required to occupy said position, which is to have resided in the area for the last two years.

In that sense, Sanhueza, Bravo and Martínez recalled that the professional is from the Bío Bío Region and that, in November 2021, he was even a candidate for deputy for one of those two districts (Los Angeles). Likewise, they assured that there would be different publications on social networks – especially from recent times – that would link it to other areas of the country and not precisely to Ñuble.
“Beyond the capabilities that the new presidential delegate may have and the urgency that existed to appoint a person to this position, it is absolutely incomprehensible that the Executive, but specifically President Gabriel Boric, have not opted for someone from the region. , with links to citizens and who had extensive knowledge of our territory. Here there is evidently a centralist attitude and a lack of commitment to Ñuble,” the parliamentarians questioned.
For the same reason, the representatives of Ñuble added that “we have decided to appeal to the Regional Comptroller of the Republic in the coming days, because apparently there would be a failure to comply with the obligation to reside in the area during the last two years,” ensuring that “ “The supervisory body will be in charge of determining whether this Government designation ends up being legal or not.”
As a result of the above, and to prevent the controversy from continuing to escalate, Senator Sanhueza and deputies Bravo and Martínez called on the President to reevaluate his decision to appoint Farrán as a delegate, ensuring that “there is still time to correct this true contempt that was”.
