UDF’s Palakkad Win: MV Govindan Alleges ‘Combined Majority Communism

Kerala Elections: CPI-M Celebrates Victory in Chelakkara Despite Opposition Claims

Thiruvananthapuram, India – The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) emerged victorious in the recent Chelakkara elections, defying predictions from the United Democratic Front (UDF) and some media outlets. CPI-M State Secretary MV Govindan declared that the right wing’s calculations were incorrect, highlighting a surge in support for the Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Palakkad.

"The UDF and the media have been propagating the notion of anti-government sentiment," Govindan asserted. "However, the LDF is experiencing a positive trend in Palakkad, indicating strong backing from the electorate."

Govindan also questioned the UDF’s alliances, alleging that they bought votes from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and forged a coalition encompassing various groups both in the majority and minority communities. He further pointed to the external support received by the UDF from religious organizations such as the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and Jamaat-e-Islami.

"The SDPI was amongst the first to celebrate the UDF’s victory," Govindan explained, "claiming to have delivered 10,000 votes in their favor."

Dismissing accusations of an "unnatural relationship" between the CPI-M and the SDPI and Jamaat-e-Islami as propagated by certain media outlets, Govindan emphasized that legal action would be pursued against these publications for spreading misinformation.

Moving on to a separate incident, Govindan addressed a recent disturbance at a CPI-M meeting in Karunagapally Kulasekharapuram. Describing it as an unacceptable act, he stressed the party’s commitment to ethical conduct and vowed to address the issue organizationally.

"The CPI-M is a party that upholds transparency and takes decisive action," Govindan stated. "While our conferences in Kollam and other areas proceeded without incident, this isolated occurrence in Karunagapally requires thorough investigation and appropriate disciplinary action."

In a concluding remark, Govindan denounced the practice of distributing welfare pensions for personal gain, deeming it a serious offense that necessitates strong action.
