UDF Protests: Demanding Resignation of Chief Minister and Control of Ration Distribution Crisis

Thiruvananthapuram – Under the leadership of UDF, the Secretariat will be blockaded on the 18th of this month, demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who is leading the corrupt administration, and demanding that the ration distribution crisis and price rise be controlled. UDF Convener MM Hasan said that half a lakh activists from all districts will participate in this program called ‘Ration Shop to Secretariat Blockade’.

Prior to this, between 10th and 15th of this month, 12 volunteers selected in all panchayats will organize a proclamation march. Activists of Thiruvananthapuram district will besiege the secretariat from 6 am on 18th. Those from other districts will concentrate at Asan Square and move towards the Secretariat in a procession. The Secretariat has imposed an investigation into cases like AI camera scam, Masapadi etc., and immediate payment of Rs 48 crore commission due to ration debtors for distribution of free kit during Covid.

The UDF will organize public hearings in all 140 constituencies as an alternative to the public meetings conducted by the Chief Minister and ministers to bring the government’s programs to the people. Through this charge sheet prepared against the government, the real picture of the crumbling Kerala is intended to be conveyed to the people. The next UDF coordination committee will take a final decision on organizing the impeachment hearing.

Karakulam Krishnapilla Chairman, Abdul Hameed MLA and MP Saju as convenors will organize a meeting of collaborators in Thiruvananthapuram on 16th under the leadership of the cooperative protection platform formed by UDF. Pro-UDF sympathizers will participate in the sympathizers meeting with the slogan ‘Protect the investors, thwart the robbers’. Senior UDF leaders including opposition leader VD Satheesan will also participate in the meeting.

UDF will spread the strike against CPM’s looting of co-operative societies. UDF associates will participate in seminars and discussions conducted by the State Co-operative Department to counter the central government’s attempts to undermine the co-operatives. But MM Hasan said that he will not hold joint meetings or strikes with the left.
