UdeM wins two awards of excellence from the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education

The Université de Montréal won two silver medals in two categories in the competition for Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education 2022 Award of Excellence (CCAE), either for the best feature article in French and for the best use of multimedia.

The CCAE Awards of Excellence recognize “outstanding achievement in alumni relations, public affairs, communications, marketing, development, advancement services, stewardship, student recruitment and general institutional promotion” and are open to all higher education institutions in Canada.

The silver medal in the category of best feature article in French was awarded to the article Are feminist and queer Christmas films possible?broadcast last December on UdeMNouvelles.

Conceived and written by Béatrice St-Cyr-Leroux, editor at the Communications and Public Relations Office of UdeM, the article addresses heteronormativity and feminisms in cinematographic products related to the holiday season.

The purpose of this text was to share with the university community a reflection on a new theme and to promote the expertise of Professor Joëlle Rouleau and her fields of research interest.

Launched in January 2021 by the Network of Alumni and Donors of the Université de Montréal, the first season of the podcast It changed my life won the silver medal in the category of best use of multimedia.

Lasting 15 minutes each, the five episodes highlight a personal story experienced by UdeM graduates who reveal how their time at the University was decisive in their lives.

This project relies on the power of testimony to humanize the training path of graduates with the aim of inspiring members of the university community, allowing them to identify with the stories told and thus maintain an emotional connection with their alma mater.

A second season is also available on the Network website.
