The supplementary game of the first round between UBSC-DBBC Graz and DBB LZ OÖ ends with a 89:67 victory.
Although the Styrians are always in front from the middle of the first quarter, they cannot break away decisively.
The decimated Upper Austrians fight bravely until the 25th minute of the game, then their strength dwindles more and more and they have to let the home team go.
UBSC-DBBC Graz vs. DBB LZ OÖ
89:67 (24x:20; 46:35; 67:48)
Saturday, 12:45 p.m.; Raiffeisen Sports Park Graz
Edin Brkic, Coach Graz: “In the beginning we didn’t play as we had imagined. We reacted quickly, accelerated the game and scored easy points thanks to good defense. The longer the game lasted, the better we played. Congratulations to my girls.”
Maria Repelnig, Graz player: “After a somewhat sleepy start, we found a better game and were able to build up a lead with quick finishes. Although Wels was able to fight back into the game, we gave our all again in the second half and were able to clinch a clear win.”
Gregor Leitner, Coach DBB LZ: “Unfortunately, since today’s game was a follow-up game of the first round, two players who we had registered later could not play. We were able to keep up well for 25 minutes until we ran out of breath. Unfortunately there wasn’t more in it.”
Magdalena Spanring, DBB LZ player: “Because we were only seven players, we ran out of breath after our run in the third quarter, but we fought to the end and I’m very happy with that.”
Best throwers: Krisper 30, Nizamic 13, Kuzma 12 or Ganhör 16, Chagas 15, Mendl 12
