Ubisoft’s Halloween Art Raises Eyebrows: Poor Quality or AI Mishap?

In honor of Halloween, Ubisoft from the Netherlands presented Assassin’s Creed art created using artificial intelligence in honor of Halloween. True, those who are responsible for generating images did not even bother to correct obvious errors.

People have started to notice Ubisoft’s social media posts that are clearly not man-made. An image of Ezio appeared on the Latin American Ubisoft account in X, and it also smacks of an extremely mediocre use of a generative neural network. As a result, Ubisoft’s post was criticized for Ezio’s poor appearance and other oddities in the image, and it was soon deleted.

Ubisoft from the Netherlands did not stand aside and presented its image of Ezio with pumpkins in the background. “Which Ubisoft game is perfect for this spooky evening?” — they asked the question in Dutch.

It was recently revealed that more than 1,000 people were laid off from Ubisoft last year as part of a “cost cutting” program. Those laid off included employees from support, marketing and other departments in Europe, the US and other countries.

However, Ubisoft continues to employ more than 19,000 people, many of whom are involved in the development of future Assassin’s Creed games. It would seem that at least one of them could, if not remake the previous marketing material for social networks, then at least “comb” the generated one so that it would not look so frankly pathetic.
