Ubisoft Releases The Settlers: New Allies February 17, 2023 For PC – Games – News

If there had been a trend in recent years to want to give established games a whole new style, to give decades-old established games that are almost a genre of their own, an attempt to become “different”.

Games like this (or BF2042, theme park, project cars) were almost a (sub)genre in themselves, in a vague attempt to make it “modern” (I guess?) pretty much go into the full roots of gaming.

As I also mentioned in the topic, they posted a great comment there in the October update:
“Our intention is to recapture that feeling…” You’re doing a terrible job, you’re going against the very foundations of what makes this series so beloved by us as fans.

Why then must a complete “backlash” occur before they realize what they have done wrong? Yes, there have been games that could make the switch, FF14, No Mans, maybe even some Cyberpunk, but I keep wondering with games like that… who was in the driver’s seat to make those choices? Games made for the love of a genre, for the game, sometimes surpassed to the level “could have been a mobile clicker game”, money could never have been the basis for this .. someone must have completely knocked out the central vision window and want to invent something again…
