Ubisoft Forward: Far Cry 6, Assassin's Creed Valhalla ... What to remember from the conference

Let’s start at the end. Ubisoft’s famous “one more thing” was this year an unsurprising announcement since it had simply leaked a few hours before the start of the conference. As expected, Far Cry 6 is indeed in development. This new episode will take us on a journey to the heart of Yara, a fictional Caribbean island largely inspired by the landscapes of Cuba. The very nice trailer presented during the event allowed to discover the big villain of this adventure, a character played by Giancarlo Esposito, actor seen in Breaking Bad and more recently in The Mandalorian. He will camp here Anton Castillo, a dictator determined to restore order to his island and in particular his capital, Esperanza.

The decor is set, but we finally know little about the gameplay. Do not panic, according to Ubisoft officials we met, in-game sequences will be revealed “in some months”. In the meantime, know that we will play Dani Rojas, a valiant hero determined to oppose the authoritarian regime of Castillo. The objective will therefore be to lead the revolution in order to help the inhabitants of Yara regain their freedom. Finally, the release date is set for February 18, 2021 sure PC (Epic Games Store et Uplay), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Stadia. Ubisoft Forward: Far Cry 6, Assassin's Creed Valhalla ... What to remember from the conference

After showing us around Egypt and Ancient Greece, the Assassin’s Creed series will return to the Middle Ages with Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. We will play Eivor, a Viking chef straight from Norway and now at the gates of four great English kingdoms: Wessex, Northumbria, East Anglia and Mercia. But this whole story of opposition to King Alfred the Great was already known, the real novelty of the Ubisoft Forward lay in a six-minute gameplay sequence that you can find below.

The combat system is thus presented there during a raid phase on an Anglo-Saxon village. Burn, loot, kill … Once the massacre is over, you can recover the wealth of the inhabitants and use it to set up camps for your people. We are also promised “the greatest variety of enemies ever seen in an Assassin’s Creed game“, a new stun system and of course, infiltration phases. But the long-awaited information arrived at the very end of the video: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be available on November 17 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and a little later on next-gen. Another big production in development on Ubisoft premises, Watch Dogs Legion. Already postponed, this new adventure will take place in the streets of a whimsical London controlled by gangs of bullies and violent police. As a hacker, your role will be to help the inhabitants regain their freedom by organizing resistance operations. To do this, you can embody any citizen crossing your path since each NPC will enjoy a personality and a history. To remind us of this concept called “Play as Anyone”, the French company offered us two videos.

The first took the form of a superb cinematic trailer directed by Alberto Mielgo, while the second presented the gameplay in more detail. For eight minutes, we were able to discover some of the many missions available, as well as some of the inhabitants that we will have the opportunity to control. Here too, we finally had the right to a release date: October 29 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Next-gen versions will be released a little later. To discover our overview, go to this address.
