Ubisoft Entertainment, a leader in game development, distribution and publishing, details the new global esports circuit ‘BLAST R6 Season 2023’ for its tactical multiplayer FPS game, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. content was published.

BLAST R6 Season 2023 is the first collaboration between Ubisoft and BLAST, an esports specialist, after signing an official partnership to expand the rainbow six esports ecosystem. It will be officially launched in the second week of March for a total of nine regions, including Asia, Oceania, the Middle East and North Africa.

BLAST R6 Season 2023 consists of three major tournaments, each with a total prize pool of USD 750,000. The first major will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark in May, and the second major will be held in the United States. The third major, the Six Invitational 2024, will be held in Brazil.

Each major competition in BLAST R6 Season 2023 is divided into three phases and welcomes fans with a new competitive structure different from last year. First of all, in Phase 1, 16 teams from 9 regions will compete, and the top 8 teams will advance to Phase 2. In Phase 2, in addition to the previous 8 teams, 8 teams who have qualified through separate competitions in each region will face each other. The top 8 teams in Phase 2 will advance to the playoffs, where they will compete in a final battle to win the BLAST R6 Major Champion Trophy and prize money.

In particular, Korea has been selected as the official host region for BLAST R6 season 2023 this year and has been assigned seed rights for a total of three major tournaments, so domestic professional teams are expected to play a big role. The winning team of the ‘R6 BLAST Korea League’, a Korean regional league, goes directly to Phase 2 of the major tournament, and the runner-up team advances to Phase 1 of the major tournament. In addition, through a separate competition, the Major Qualifier, one additional Korean team will gain the right to advance to the major competition.

Ubisoft Korea is openly recruiting professional teams to participate in the BLAST R6 season 2023 by March 1 to further strengthen the competitiveness of the upgraded Korean regional league and to revitalize the domestic e-sports league. If selected as a professional team, they will be given various opportunities to enhance their team’s status through participation in the R6 BLAST Korea League as well as support for domestic and global broadcasting. In particular, this year’s domestic league will be held throughout the year without a promotion match, so it is expected that more stable team operation will be possible than before.
