In any case, the taxis have permanent standing places in the city, which nevertheless partly protect them. “The advantage is that we have our own taxi companies that operate very correctly with the necessary knowledge of the city, and they have fixed locations”, Geleyns continues.
“Those places are limited, and that is their protective mechanism. Our taxi companies also have correct rates, and we are in the process of working out a quality label for them. Of course, Uber will bring additional competition. They are cheaper, we shouldn’t deny that. And as a city, we are not very happy with that. “
