Uber Eats Expands to End of Year: All-Day Pass

By the end of the year, Uber Eats will significantly expand its availability in Germany and can now also be used in Erfurt, Erlangen, Freiburg im Breisgau, Kassel, Lübeck and Rostock. A year and a half after the launch of Uber Eats in Germany, the delivery platform is now available in nearly 60 cities.

In the newly added cities, users can choose their dishes from around 30 restaurants. Delivery is made to the location specified by users, whether it’s home, office or ice rink. In addition to regional specialities, various international cuisines are also represented. Dishes can be ordered through the Uber Eats app and through the Uber app.

“We have systematically expanded the delivery area of Uber Eats this year. The launches of these six cities show that we can get more people excited about Uber Eats across Germany, from the far north with Rostock and Lübeck, through central Germany with Kassel and Erfurt, to Freiburg in the deep south,” says a spokesperson. of Uber. “Feedback from our customers and partner restaurants is consistently positive, which keeps us motivated.”

How Uber Eats works

Users select their dishes via the app. Background technology connects restaurants with customers. The customer can use the app to see how far the preparation process has progressed. Payment is made in the app, for example by credit card, Apple Pay or PayPal. In some cases, payment in cash is also possible.

In all six cities, the restaurants initially take care of the delivery of the dishes themselves: the delivery time from order to customer is less than 30 minutes on average worldwide. This should also be achieved in new cities as quickly as possible.
