In an emotional ceremony, the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí (UASLP) presented, at the Bicentenario University Cultural Center, awards to 462 students of academic excellence from the 2023-2024 cycle, for their dedication and effort, thereby reaffirming its commitment to comprehensive training of professionals.

The event was attended by the rector of the UASLP, Dr. Alejandro Javier Zermeño Guerra; from maestro Federico Arturo Garza Herrera, general secretary; Dr. Claudia Elena González Acevedo, head of the School Services Secretariat, and Dr. Ana Luisa González Sánchez, head of the Student Services Division, as well as the 21 directors of the institution’s academic entities, parents and relatives. of the students.

The director of the Huasteca South Region Academic Coordination (CARHS), in the municipality of Tamazunchale, teacher Óscar Fernández Pérez-Tejada, recognized the effort, dedication and passion that each of the students has put into their educational path, “excellence is It builds in difficult times when we choose to move forward. “You can say that everything behind it has been worth it,” he said in his speech.

Representing the award-winning university students, Ramiro Pérez González, a ninth-semester student of the Law Degree at the Ponciano Arriaga Leija Law School, stated that this recognition, received in a personal capacity, became a collective achievement. “This distinction becomes a commitment that we acquire with society by being agents of change,” he commented.

For his part, Dr. Alejandro Javier Zermeño Guerra applauded the efforts of the outstanding students in the areas of social and natural sciences, exact sciences, engineering, health sciences, humanities, arts and architecture, agriculture and administration, who They converge on the purpose of transforming society.

He assured that, in a demanding world of highly prepared professionals, training in university classrooms is not limited to the technical skills of their discipline, emphasis has also been placed on the development of key skills, such as leadership, analysis of reality, understanding reader and ability to transform knowledge into action.
