UAQ strengthens the development of its community through art – Informative Codex

Within the framework of the Art and Academy project, the virtual closing of the courses and workshops corresponding to the 2022-1 semester was carried out, organized by the Department of Attention to the University Community of the Autonomous University of Querétaro (UAQ), through the Coordination of Cultural Management and Group Formation. The objective of these activities is to contribute to comprehensive education through art to promote the analysis of contexts, empathy and solidarity, as well as a general culture that favors the development of the university community.

During this event, Theresa Garcia Gascarector of the entity’s Highest House of Studies, recognized these activities as important spaces for learning for the university community and, she said, they permeate society.

They are spaces that allow us to address day-to-day issues from other perspectives through art and other expressions and this, of course, is extremely valuable, there is no dividing line; I wish you have met your expectations and that I have left you eager to participate again”, expressed Garcia Gasca.

On the other hand, Verónica Núñez Perusquía, head of the Department of Attention to the University Community, thanked the participants for their trust in attending these activities, with which, she said, they shared part of their essence in each of these courses.

We know that you have done very well, that you give us a small part of you is something that is priceless, but that we value infinitely”, stressed Núñez Perusquía.

Likewise, Ivonne Ruiz Padilla, head of the Directorate of Cultural Management and Group Formationstressed that the very positive results obtained are an impetus to move forward.

Karina Covarrubias Gonzalez, responsible for courses and workshopsaffirmed that all this work also has the goal that they continue their training and closely follow other options that exist within this series of workshops.

The courses taught on this occasion were: Painting and drawing, taught by Griselda Rodríguez Ramos; Introduction to Illustrator, by Isabel Fuentes Ajungo; Illustration and lettering techniques, by Iván Antonio Granados Solís; Photography, by José Alberto Wong Méndez; Introduction to Photoshop, by Karina Covarrubias González Mesa; and Cultural and discursive expression, by Dr. Rebeca Ivonne Ruiz Padilla.

303 participants were registered, of whichs 276 are UAQ students from various faculties and the Graduate Schoolas well as eight teachers and administrators, all of them, from campuses and schools such as: Airport, Amazcala, Amealco, Historic Center, University Center, Jalpan, Juriquilla, San Juan del Río, Pinal de Amoles, Prepa Center, Mixed High School, Colón, Prepa Norte, Prepa Sur, Pedro Escobedo, as well as incorporated high schools.
