UAQ inaugurates the first stage of the new building that houses the CITE


The center attached to the Faculty of Psychology promotes research and exploration of the relationships between education and technology

At the Airport campus of the Autonomous University of Querétaro, the new space of the Center for Research in Educational Technology (CITE) was opened, a space through which research and exploration, at the undergraduate and postgraduate level, of the relationships between the education and technology.

Teresa Guzmán Flores, coordinator of the CITE attached to the Faculty of Psychology, shared that among the works that are carried out, it stands out that of providing advice to different programs that transition from face-to-face education to online education, mainly in the academic unit; as well as the teacher training project headed by the Law School for the integration of technologies in the classroom and the design and implementation of an online propaedeutic area at the Faculty of Natural Sciences.

Likewise, the academic recalled that there is a team of teachers, researchers, pedagogues, designers, programmers, computer scientists, who allow the online operation of the Doctorate in Multimodal Education (DEM) of the Faculty of Psychology and that it is part of the offer educational of said center; whose objective is to train doctors capable of using multimodal resources to exercise their teaching profession.

“This center fulfills its substantive functions of research, innovation and development, in the field of educational technology and provides services for formal and non-formal education, using Information and Communication Technologies at the service of education.”

The investment in the construction of the building that houses the CITE was six million pesos, resources that were obtained through the financing of different projects; The project includes, in a second stage, the construction of the upper floor of the building, which will house a television studio, among other rooms.

Currently, the building measures 456 square meters and houses four offices for coordination, a general coordinator’s office, a classroom, reception area, restrooms and an auditorium with capacity for 70 people, as part of the first stage.
