Under the new agreements, both the Emirati Masdar and the Dutch companies will cooperate to develop a green hydrogen supply chain, with a focus on production in Abu Dhabi and export to the Netherlands via the port of Amsterdam, according to what was seen by the specialized energy platform.
The exported green hydrogen is to be delivered to key European sectors, including sustainable aviation fuel, steelmaking, fueling for shipping vessels, and to new and emerging European companies buying energy via pipelines, trucks and barges.
The agreement stipulates that the Emirati company, Masdar, will work with other Dutch companies and the port of Amsterdam to explore a number of ways to transport green hydrogen, with a focus on liquid organic hydrogen and liquid hydrogen carriers.
